7 Basics of Good Web Design

February 25th, 2009

Dear Publishers,

We’d like share with you an interesting article from sitepronews.com “7 Basics of Good Web Design” by George Peirson. He points out how to make a good first impression for your visitors and keep them on your site. Traffic is the most important asset of your site and can generate earnings from good traffic. In the other words, taking steps to improve your site and will in turn help improve your earning.

Here are the 7 points George Peirson says in the article:

1) Fast Loading Web Site

2) No Meaningless Splash page

3) No Annoying Web Gimmicks

4) Have a Clear Message

5) Coordinated Design

6) Easy navigation

7) Have a “Complete” web site

Point 1 and 3 are directly related to your ad placement. Previously, we discussed where to place your ad on the page – do you do the same thing on every page? George Peirson suggests that having a fast loading front page and should be your number one concern. Visitors will not wait for your page to finish loading even if you appear first on a Google search; more often than not, they will just close your site and go to the next search result. Also, Point 3 makes it clear that an ad (or anything else for that matter) should cover the importance of your page content.

Based on George Peirson’s suggestions, publishers should carefully choose the ad format and plan them out within your site. Using 4-5 banners on your first page can give you great earning by just getting people to your site, but you might lose your long term impressions because they might not want to come back. Clicksor helps decrease loading time on your page by setting to load your site content first before our ads. This might be a good feature to consider when you chose your ad supplier.

Sincerely,

The Clicksor Family

Clicksor Tracking

February 23rd, 2009

Hey Advertisers,

Here’s another tip!

As an advertiser, you’ll probably refer to your Clicksor reports more often than not when attempting to do some analysis on campaign performance.

In case you might have over looked it, you can generate reports by going to your Campaign Admin area, and under Reports, you’ll see several types of reports including, but not limited to a General Report, Geo Target Report, and your Keyword Channel Report.

Reports are broken down daily with parameters such as impressions, spending, Click Through Rate (CPC).

For more detailed reporting to include conversions, advertisers have the ability to generate pixel codes. To generate a pixel code, go to Settings > Roi Tracking.

Once you have generated the pixel code, it is recommended to place the pixel at the top of the page after the desired action. Should a user land on the page, this information will fire the pixel and it will appear in the report!

Happy Advertising!

Sincerely,

The Clicksor Family

Account Verification Process

February 20th, 2009

Hey Advertisers,

Here’s another common question you probably wanted to ask but never got a chance to:

Do I have to receive an account verification phone call for every campaign I create?

As standard company procedure, we must complete a one time account verification process before activating your first Clicksor campaign. But why process an account verification in the first place? The main reason is not only to ensure our valued customer’s accounts are properly being handled and confirm account information, but more importantly, for your own security. To protect your account from hackers, frauds, and virus, we will take all the necessary steps to ensure that your account is being looked after efficiently and professionally. Furthermore, if our account verification team isn’t able to get a hold of you, we will send you a ticket/email explaining the next necessary steps to begin the verification process.

Remember, if your account has been verified already, please feel free to submit your campaign for review and it will be approved within 1-2 business hours! If settings need to be confirmed, we will send you an email or ticket to let you know.

Happy advertising!

Sincerely,

The Clicksor Family

Clicksor Blog – Friday Edition: Family Day

February 13th, 2009

Hello all!

Well, it’s Friday again. You know what that means – its time for the Friday Edition blog! This weeks topic:

Family Day and Office Haikus

On Monday, February 16, 2009, Canadian residents in Ontario will be celebrating Family Day – established in Ontario, Canada on Oct 11, 2007. This day is usually takes place the third Monday of February, and usually coincides with the United States’ President’s Day.

So, for Ontarian residents, this will be our second time celebrating it. Oh, how we love our long weekends (and we’re sure you do too.)

Any plans for the long weekend? Perhaps you’ll be heading out to cottage? Warm dinner with the ‘rents? Whatever you do, at this very moment, you’re probably counting down the minutes until you can go home like the rest of us.

And what better way to kick off the weekend than with some good ol’ Office Haikus. In case you don’t know, Haikus Japanese poems made up of 3 verses. The first verse is 5 syllables, the second is 7 syllables, and the final line is once again 5 syllables. Haikus often evoke thoughts, emotions, ideas or observations about life.

I present to you our Office Haikus, written at random by various Clicksor Staff. Please enjoy!

Ceiling Tiles are Neat
There Are Little Galaxies
Imprinted In Them

The Boss has Arrived
He Smiles So Generously
And He Brought Tim Bits

The Paper Shredder
I can hear it from my desk
And now it has jammed

I’m out of staples
To the supplies room I go
My life is complete

So many emails

Inquiries, campaigns, reports…

Reply, type, type, send.

Have a nice weekend!!!

Sincerely,

The Clicksor Family

Campaign Approval Process

February 11th, 2009

Hey Advertisers,

So, you’ve set up an account and have submitted your campaign. Still, you’re probably wondering the following question:

When will my campaign start?

Campaigns submitted for review are generally approved within 1-2 business hours.  If this is your first campaign submission, your account requires verification from our Review Team before allowing it go live. If your account has not been verified yet, campaign approval may take a bit longer. Account verification generally takes up to 2 business days but could take longer if we are unable to contact you. Please ensure your account info is accurate and up to date to expedite verification!

It is recommended that you fund your account first before setting up a campaign. Not only will it make it easier to allocate funds to the campaign but will save you the trouble of having to add more funds as the campaign ends – this will avoid an interruption of traffic to your campaign. In addition, it’s recommended to check your campaign settings first before you submit the campaign, as our Review Team may delay approval by sending you a ticket to verify your settings.

We try our best to approve every campaign as quickly as possible. If you need campaigns approved before our office closes on a weekday, or before we leave for weekend or holiday, please be sure to create them well in advance!

Our office hours are from 9am-6pm EST, Monday to Friday.

Happy advertising!!

Sincerely,

The Clicksor Family
